The cycling holiday Smak på Fyn/Herregårdsrute is a Danish cycling classic that gives you the true feeling of Denmark outside Copenhagen. It is a must in line with other cycling holiday classics in Europe. And so it's organized by the only local bike travel agency on the island. So you get the best local knowledge, proximity to the organizer and true passion for cycling holidays on our island.
Are you also into the smell of yellow canola and wheat fields, the view of green rolling hills, blue skies and the fresh breath of seawater? And are you into those little experiences in barely known areas and local flavors? And are you into sustainable travel and food complemented by the most uniquely located hotels?
Then you should experience Funen slowly together with Bike Tours Funen. We offer the best way to experience Funen, Denmark's garden... from the bike saddle.
Taste the Funen tour is a pleasure trip where we guide you to a wide variety of Funen experiences and special flavours, so that you really get the opportunity to “taste” Funen.
Based on our personal experiences with Funen, we have created the perfect setting for your cycling journey. Every day is an experience from the morning bath in the sea and the delicious breakfast to today's cycling stage with the small special experiences ending with the joy of meeting another lovely hotel almost at the water's edge.
An additional highlight of this cycling classic is the meeting with the famous fairytale writer H. C. Andersen's charming hometown, Odense. This is where you start and end, and in this way you get an up-close acquaintance with a city that has been praised to the clouds in travel magazines all over the past few years.
And don't worry: we know what we're talking about :-). We have tried it all and promise you an eventful cycling holiday.
We look forward to giving you a great cycling experience in Funen.

- Accommodation in Odense
Day 2: Odense-Nyborg 36 km. 137 meters of altitude.
- Drive east out of Odense and across Funen and hit Nyborg, the heart of the Danish kingdom, where history and proximity to the sea play such a big role. Along the way you will meet, among other things, the Romantic Garden, the unique Cream Ball Tree and one of Funen's most characteristic and distinctive small breweries.
- Accommodation in Nyborg
Day 3: Nyborg - Svendborg 56 km. 322 meters altitude.
- With the sun over the Great Belt, you say goodbye to Nyborg and cycle through the fruit and berry country, Eastern Funen. You will meet several castles and manors, charming Lundeborg, and there is the possibility of a number of winery visits. North of Svendborg you will again follow the sea towards your hotel.
- Accommodation Svendborg
Day 4: Svendborg — Ærø - Faaborg 21 km. 162 meters of altitude.
- You leave Svendborg by waterway with Ærøferry to cycle across Ærø, the largest island in the South Funen archipelago. In Denmark's most romantic and beautiful small town, Ærøskøbing, you can safely have lunch in one of the cobbled streets. From here you cycle north to Søby through villages and rolling countryside where the sea is never far away. Today's hotel is beautifully located in Faaborg.
- Accommodation in Faaborg
Day 5: Faaborg - Helnæs, Assens 32 km. 218 meters altitude.

- Accommodation at Helnæs, Assens
Day 6: Helnæs, Assens — Middelfart 61 km. 308 meters altitude.
- After breakfast with a view, you must say goodbye to your little paradise. But don't despair for the itinerary today, and the destination outweighs it. Your destination in Middelfart, surrounded by the sea and bridges at the Little Belt.
- Accommodation in Middelfart
Day 7: Middelfart — Odense 60 km. 334 Altitude meters.
